RIFT

The world has been at the mercy of beasts for decades.

At the core of its chest lies an impossible organ — the apolitical heart — beating not with life, but with the ghostly promise of a postponed future. It shrieks, once, every four years; a cry for stasis, for the preservation of comfort laced with rot. It begs you to ignore the bodies.

RIFT is a video composed of found and appropriated footage. It is an ode to the increasingly uninhabitable center, a dead zone of inertia and privilege where ideology calcifies.

Capitalism in crisis sharpens contradictions — left and right assemble as the middle is pulled, stretched and torn into the pangs of polarity. The center cannot — will not — hold.
